STG Application Requirements
In order to be eligible for a SAVMA Travel Grant (STG) Award, you must meet the following requirements:
- The applicant must be a SAVMA member in good standing
- The applicant must acquire a minimum of 5 volunteer credits
- The Volunteer Credit Opportunities are listed on the STG Award Website
** Don’t remember your SAVMA ID # or whether or not you paid your dues? **
- Search SAVMA@avma.org in your email and your old membership confirmation should come up with your ID number in it. Use that number to log in and pay your dues
Eligibility
- Students are only eligible for one STG award per year (May 15 – May 14)
- Students may apply more than once, but the applications must be for different conferences
- For example, if a student is denied an STG award for a conference, they remain eligible to apply for a different conference that same year.
- Applicants may receive travel funding to attend a professional meeting as a presenter or as a non-presenter, or as a VM4 participating in a preceptorship/externship.
- Applicants may receive travel funding to attend a professional workshop that provides experiences not available at ISU.
- Applicants will not receive funding for required academic activities unless it is a preceptorship/externship.
General Information
- Incomplete, late, or duplicate applications will not be considered for funding.
- The deadline for an application is 5:00 pm on the 15th of the month prior to the month of the conference.
- It is in an individual’s best interest to apply as soon as possible and at any time prior to the deadline.
Acceptable travel receipts are limited to:
- Registration fees
- Wetlab fees
- Hotel fees
- Airline fees
- Gas Reimbursement
